The Horse That Shaped a Career—and Inspired These Buckles: Topper

Registered as Topo fthemarket, Topper is widely regarded as one of the greatest calf roping horses of all time. He was the horse Stran turned to when only the very best would do. Though Stran owned him only later in Topper’s life, they were long-time partners. Topper helped Stran fill his PRCA permit, qualify for multiple NFRs, and battle back after knee surgery, a stroke, and experimental heart surgery. Twice named AQHA and PRCA Horse of the Year, Topper made Stran feel like Superman in the arena.
