The History of the Western Hat
The western hat has a rich history dating back more than a century. Originally designed to protect cowboys from the elements, it remains one of the most practical and iconic pieces of western apparel today.
The high crown provides excellent insulation against both heat and cold, while the wide brim offers protection from sun and rain. Traditionally, quality western hats have been made from premium fur felt, making them lightweight, durable and comfortable enough to wear all day.

What Is Your Hat Size?
A perfectly fitting western hat starts with the shape of your head.
Since every head is unique, we use an antique Conformateur, a traditional measuring instrument that accurately records the exact contours of your head. This allows us to create a hat that is not only exceptionally comfortable but also remains perfectly balanced while riding.
Using a Formillon, the measurements are transferred precisely to the hat. We then reshape the sweatband and interior to match your individual head shape.
This is true craftsmanship—not mass production.
Once the fit has been perfected, your hat is individually hand-shaped using steam. Both the crown and brim are formed entirely by hand to create the style you prefer, whether that is a classic ranch look, a modern show style or something uniquely your own.
