The perfect transition bit from snaffle bit to shank bit and from a broken bit to solid shank.
A Billy Allen mouthpiece gives horses the advantage of a bit that does not have a nut cracker effect because it does not fold over the tongue.
The bit has a 13 cm Sweet Iron Billy Allen mouthpiece with copper inlays and 7" cheeks.
Sweet iron will rust when it comes into contact with (air) humidity; the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more which in turn encourages better acceptance of the bit. The rusting process (oxidation) changes the colour of the bit to a brownish-grey.
A beginning of this oxidation process may already be visible when purchasing a new bit.
